Recycling Center & Transfer Station Tours
Come learn about where your trash and recycling materials go after they leave your curb.
Storytime on litter prevention and recycling is available.
Tours are approximately 30 minutes in length and are offered Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. But they may be scheduled outside these hours based on staff availability.
C. M. Hinton, Jr. Regional Landfill Tours
The Hinton Landfill accepts municipal solid waste, construction, and demolition waste from residents, private waste haulers, and commercial businesses, taking in approximately 1,100 tons of garbage every day.
Located at 3175 Elm Grove Road, Rowlett, TX 75089, the landfill’s hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the general public.

Interested in learning more about waste prevention, recycling, and sustainability at your event? The Sanitation Department provides a speaker, vendor booth, or truck demonstration for relevant events as staff is available.
